The Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police Command says it is implementing enhanced security measures to address the rising cases of ‘one chance’ crimes and car theft across Abuja.
According to a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Josephine Adeh, the measures include the deployment of additional personnel and equipment for patrols, stop-and-search operations, and heightened surveillance in strategic locations throughout the FCT.
The statement notes that, to ensure compliance with traffic regulations, the police will impound vehicles without registration numbers, those with only one plate, and vehicles with defaced plates.
While acknowledging that the operations may cause some inconvenience, the statement assures residents that the initiatives are essential for safeguarding lives and property.
It reaffirms the Command’s dedication to maintaining a secure environment and encourages residents to report suspicious activities.
