Edo Queens Chase CAF Women’s Champions League Title

Edo Queens will represent Nigeria at the 2024 Confédération Africaine de Footbal, CAF Women’s Champions League, which kicks off in Morocco on November 9th. The Nigerian team aims to win the prestigious continental title.

Also, Morocco is back as the host nation, having successfully organized the tournament in 2022. The host team, AS FAR FC, won the title that year, adding to the excitement and local pride surrounding this event.

The tournament will also feature Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies from South Africa, the most successful club in the competition’s history with two titles.

While other notable participants include Aigles de La Medina from Senegal, University of the Western Cape from South Africa, Tutankhamun from Egypt, Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, and also TP Mazembe from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

With a total prize pool of $650,000, including $400,000 for the winners and $250,000 for the runners-up, the competition promises to showcase the best of African women’s club football.

Edo Queens, fresh from their dominance in the Nigerian Women’s Football League (NWFL) and the WAFU B Zone, will be hoping to make a strong impression and challenge for the title. Their participation in the tournament is a testament to the growing strength of women’s football in Nigeria.
