The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajudeen, has lamented the deaths of about 100 persons following a Petrol tanker explosion in Jigawa State.
Dr Abbas, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, described the incident as unfortunate.
According to the statement, scores of people were confirmed dead when a tanker conveying petrol exploded in Majiya town, Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
“Over 50 others also sustained various degrees of injuries and were hospitalised at Ringim General Hospital.”
“The driver was said to have lost control of the tanker, which left Kano en route Nguru in Yobe State, leading to the accident.
He condoled the families of the deceased while praying for
the quick recovery of those injured.
Speaker Abbas prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives.
