The National Agency For Science And Engineering Infrastructure, NASENI, has invented and launched 35 innovative NASENI branded products into the Nigeria market within the last one year.

Executive Vice Chairman/ CEO of NASENI, Mr Khalil Suleiman Halilu stated this when he displayed the products and conducted Journalists round the NASENI premises to see some of the inventions that took place within his one year in office.

Mr Halilu noted that this was made possible with the support of President Tinubu and effective collaboration with like- minded industrialists and entrepreneurs, with the 3Cs concept of Creation, Collaboration and Commercialization.

He also attributed his passion to deepening homegrown technological transfer aimed at setting Nigeria among the top ranking industrialized nations; and the spirit of team work from staff as part of the success story.

He highlighted some of the NASENI hatched products within the last one year to include: the development of Hatch- Box technology, meant to nurture talented citizens, with a view to revolutionizing the way Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, STEM, are taught and learned in school to provide a platform for quality research and experiment to enable them realize their full potential.

Another useful agro- technology invented within the period under review is the mobile irrigation solar system technology that can be used to facilitate all year round farming across the country.

His words: “Over the past year, we have moved beyond envisioning a future of industrial growth to actively building it. Our portfolio now includes 35 market- ready innovations, from affordable solar lamps that can power our streets with cutting- edge agricultural technologies that are answers to the urgent challenges of energy access and food security, Halilu said.”

Still under the leadership of Mr Halilu, NASENI has also invented CNG cars and electric NASENI branded Cars, such as NASENI Pick Up, NASENI Bus, NASENI – EV which are available for sale.

Others are NASENI CCTV, 3 different Smart metres, E- tricycle, 1-3 inches solar pumps, solar street lights, Home solution panel, mobile phones, 10 inches Android tablets, 14 inches laptop, 3 different capacity T100, T200 and T500 power stoves among other inventions.

On Institutional reforms, Mr Halilu has digitized the agency’s services and operations, streamlined administrative processes, advanced Nigeria’s Industrialization efforts, launched Growth Hacker Platform, improved staff welfare, developed 2023- 2027 Strategic launch pad, reformed NASENI’s governance structure and developed a road map for the Ajaokuta Steel Complex revival.

Similarly, Mr Halilu within the year under review ventured into some industrialization efforts that birthed establishment of a lithium battery factory, establishment of Nigeria’s largest CNG Reverse Engineering Center and various factories, commenced manufacturing of defense equipment in the country amid many other Nigeria – Made- Products.

Also worthy of note, is Mr Halilu’s ability to launch the National Asset Restore Program, ongoing establishment of a tractor assembly plant in Nigeria, as well as the coal- based fertilizer manufacturing plant.

These milestone evidences speak for themselves.”

Ironically, rather than Journalists demanding to see evidence of promises made, the Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI challenged Journalists to openly challenge him if there is any project he promised to execute upon assumption of office, that is yet to be executed.

Surprisingly, Journalists that picked up the microphone, rained accolades on the NASENI- performing Boss for keeping and surpassing all promises made.

They particularly commended him for domesticating products production in the country, which they hope would significantly lead to less dependency on importation of goods, while others merely encouraged NASENI as an Agency, to sustain the strides, by mass – producing some of the products like electric stoves, solar light, power banks and Android phones at affordable prices.

The NASENI Boss therefore said that going forward, he would prioritize commercialization of all viable NASENI products in the coming year towards achieving a more robust NASENI’s impact on Nigeria’s technological and industrial landscape.
