Bayelsa Queens FC thrashed Brave Heart Ladies 6-0 on Monday in their opening Group B match of the Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament.
The game played at the University of Benin Sports Stadium saw Bayelsa Queens dominating the game from the blast of the whistle.

Peace Abbey gave Bayelsa Queens the lead in the 17th minute. The Prosperity Girls pushed for more goals after scoring, and Peace Abbey scored again in the 23rd minute.
Dooshima Tarnum extended the lead to three goals in the 30th minute, and Peace Abbey completed her hat-trick just before halftime. The first half ended 4-0 in favor of the Yenagoa-based team.
In the second stanza, Bayelsa Queens scored two goals in the space of 5 min as Mercy Omokwo netted in the 54 and 59 minutes to give Bayelsa Queens a comfortable six-nil victory.
With the second goal, Brave Heart Ladies came out pressing to get a goal, but the defense of Bayelsa Queens FC thwarted their efforts and Linda Jiwuaku goalkeeper of Bayelsa Queens made a brilliant save in the second half.
Technical Adviser Bayelsa Queens, Whyte Ogbonda, after the game said it is still work in progress that he hopes to get a more formidable team before the season starts.
“I am very impressed with my players today and for the game against Naija Ratels tomorrow, we are going to take another approach to win the game.
We are here at the Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament to take the trophy back to Yenagoa, and all matches will be taken seriously like a cup final.”
Bayelsa Queens will on Tuesday take on Naija Ratels in their second Group B game, before taking on Espoir FC of Benin Republic on Thursday.
