CDCFIB Approves Promotion Of 20,867 Senior Officers

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has approved the promotion of 20,867 senior officers from the four paramilitary services under the Ministry of Interior.

The secretary of the Board, Mallam Ja’afaru Ahmed, who gave the details of the summary of the promotion at the end of the board’s 5th meeting chaired by the minister of Interior, Dr. Olubumi Tunji-Ojo in Abuja, said they
considered and approved the promotion across the ranks.

Giving further breakdown of the figure released in the 2024 promotion exercise, Mr. Ja’afaru Ahmed revealed that while a total of 5,329 officers of the Nigeria Correctional Service were promoted, the Nigeria Immigration Service had a total of 5,112, Federal Fire Service, 489 officers across ranks and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps had the highest number put at 9,937.

The Secretary of the Board also disclosed that the Board considered and approved a Special Promotion of two officers of the Nigeria Correctional Service, 4 officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service , one officer of the Federal Fire Service and 2 officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

Other considerations, according to the Board Secretary were the approval for the monitoring, evaluation as well as collaboration with the Services on career development courses organised in the respective four Services.

The board also gave approval for the implementation of a new training curriculum for use in the Training Institutions of the Federal Fire Service.

Mr Ja’afaru Ahmed reiterated the board’s commitment to conclude the 2023/24 Federal Fire Service recruitment exercise before the end of September, 2024.

He charged the beneficiaries to see the promotion as a new frontier in the way and manner they carry out their responsibilities buttressing that promotions come with enormous responsibilities, and to whom much is given, much is expected.
