Climate Change: ECF Seeks Support Of Fombina FM On Awareness

In a bid to mitigate the impact of climate change, the Environmental Care Foundation, in collaboration with Gender Climate Change and Nutrition Integration, is to partner with Radio Nigeria’s Fombina FM to raise awareness about the implications of climate change and its effects on women.

The Executive Director Environmental Care Foundation, ECF Mr. Yohanna Moses, made the call during a visit to fombina fm in Yola.

He stated that the aim of the visit was to seek strong support in creating awareness on issues affecting climate change.

Mr Moses who highlighted the implications of climate change in the society, stressed the need for it to be tackled in Adamawa state.

The Executive Director also emphasized the importance of educating the public about the impact of climate change on women.

The ECF Director noted that the initiative also aims at identifying gaps in issues of food intake and tree planting to avert flooding, drought, deforestation, among others.

Earlier, the ECF environmental engineer, Professor Birmama Benjamin, emphasized that the partnership will shed light on the unique vulnerabilities faced by women in the face of climate change and advocate for gender-sensitive solutions to address these challenges.

In response, the General Manager of Fombina FM, Dahiru Garba Mohammad, represented by the Head of Programs, Hajiya Zainab Umar, stated that the issue of climate change is something to be looked into and assured them of the full support of Fombina FM in reaching a wide audience.

The head of programs Fombina FM pledged total commitment towards promoting sustainable practices to combat climate change.
