The Nigerian Immigration Service has commenced a nationwide campaign to mitigate corruption and improve service delivery.

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Mrs Kemi Nandap, said the aim is to root out corrupt elements within the ranks and create a culture of accountability, transperancy and zero tolerance for corruption.

Mrs Kemi Nandap noted that sustained efforts would be geared towards ensuring a culture of excellence in the service’s operations.

“As we begin this workshop on mitigating corruption, improving service delivery and ethical compliance, I urge you all to reflect on the oath we swore to uphold.”

She noted that the role of the Nigeria Immigration Service is not just to enforce laws but also to serve as ambassadors of Nigeria.

The CGIS said the service would do everything within its power to ensure that the integrity of the service is sustained.

“The values are the foundation upon which our service is built, and this campaign intends to reiterate and promote them, we must recognize that our role is not just to enforce laws but to serve as ambassadors of Nigeria, our conduct must reflect these values”.

She urged officers to be deliberate in their actions and ensure professionalism for a new era of excellence in the service.

Let us rise to this challenge, and may our collective efforts be a catalyst for a new era of excellence in the Nigeria Immigration Service.”

Mrs Nandap disclosed that the Nigeria Immigration Service will not condone any act of indiscipline from its personnel stressing that the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was doing everything possible to restore and uphold the integrity of the nation.
