Guests on “Politics Today” a Kapital FM, Current Affairs Programme, have appealed to President Bola Tinubu to look into the demands of the protesters especially on high cost of living.

This they say will reduce agitations in the country.

One of the Guests, Former Chief of Staff to the immediate past Governor of Imo state, Cheif Uche Nwosu also appealed to the protesters to be patient with the President as he was making efforts to address the demands of Nigerians.

Chief Nwosu, however stressed that one year in office was not enough to solve the current challenges confronting the country .

He called on individuals making some untrances capable of causing confusions and tensions to be mindful of such as it would not bring any peace rather escalate the crisis.

Chief Nwosu emphasized the need for the President to ensure that every one around him develops genuine interest for the unity and progress of the country, to enable him meet the target of the Renewed Hope Agenda and the demands of Nigerians.

On the issue of insecurity, Chief Nwosu said the present administration should critically look into the challenges facing the agricultural sector especially that of resolving the farmers and headers clashes which he said was the reason for insufficiency of food in the country.

Chief Nwosu commended the efforts of security agencies in managing the protests and urged them to continue in their professional conduct to avoid casualties.

He also urged organisers of the protests to ensure that public and private property were not looted and destroyed in the name of protest which would in no anyway help in solving the problems of hardship rather it would worsen the situation.

Also speaking on the programme, a former Chairman of the House Committee on information, from Enugu state, Jonathan Chijioke Edeoga attributed the current hardship in the country to the removal of the fuel subsidy and insecurity which needed immediate attention by the present administration.

Chief Edeoga, who was also a former Commissioner of Information in Enugu State, maintained that the President as the father of the nation should address Nigerians on the way forward to cushion the effects of the policies.

Some Callers on the programme, Mr Suleiman Musa and Monday Igwe all from Abuja were of the opinion that the President should address the nation on his readiness to bring down cost of living including food items and electricity tariff.
