President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Prof. Olusegun Omoniyi Ige as the new Director General of the Nigeria Geological Survey Agency, NGSA.
At the hand over ceremony in Abuja, the Acting Director-General of the Agency, Mr. Umar Bature led NGSA Management and Staff to welcome the new Director General.
Until his appointment as Director-General NGSA, Prof Olusegun Omoniyi Ige was the Head, Department of Geology and Mineral Sciences University of Ilorin, Kwara State.
He also served as Chairman, Local Organising Committee of the recently concluded FAPSCON 2024 International Conference.
Similarly, the Faculty of Physical Sciences, University of Ilorin has felicitated with Prof. Olusegun Omoniyi Ige on his appointment as the Director General of the Nigeria Geological Survey Agency, NGSA,.
A statement signed by the Dean, Faculty of Physical Sciences, Prof. Baba Abdullahi says the entire staff and students of the Faculty rejoice with him on his appointment, which is a call to national service.
“We want to congratulate Professor Ige, the former Head, Geology and Mineral Sciences & the LOC Chair of the recently concluded FAPSCON 2024 International Conference, on his appointment as the Director General of the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency by His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria” he adds.
“We pray for God’s guidance and protection as he resumes duty today,” it states.
