The Director, National Mathematical Centre, Prof Promise Mebine has expressed sadness over the passing of the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council, NERDC, Prof Ismail Junaidu.
In a statement, Prof. Mebine describes Prof Junaidu as an educationist and administrator who contributed immensely to the growth and development of education in the country.
The statement also says that Prof Junaidu is a luminary and visionary academician whose impact on education and other spheres of life will live far beyond him.
Describing his demise as a huge blow to the country in general and the Education sector in particular, he prayed that God will give his immediate family and staff of NERDC the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
