The Forum of Chairmen of the All Progressive Congress, APC, has appealed to Nigerians to shelve the proposed protest and give President Bola Tinubu ample time to implement the Renewed Hope projects and Programs he promised.

They made the appeal while addressing newsmen on the state of the nation at the National Secretariat of the party, in Abuja.

Speaking on behalf of the Chairmen, the Cross River Chairman and Secretary of the Forum, Mr. Alphonsus Eba explained that the President took bold, courageous and difficult steps to reset the nation’s economy to build stronger foundations in addressing the underlying problems of the huge and wasteful payment of fuel subsidy and wide disparity in the Forex market when he assumed office last year.

Mr. Eba explained that the present administration is totally aware of the current economic hardship being faced by Nigerians but promised that there is hope for better sustainable and permanent solutions for the good of all the citizens.

He commended the patience and tolerance of Nigerians in the past one year and called on traditional, religious and other well-meaning individuals to appeal to the masses to give Mr. President more time.

Eba stressed that the voices of the citizens have been heard and assured that Mr. President is committed in providing the leadership that would take the country out of the challenges.

According to him, protest is a constitutional right when done through the rule of law and can be avoided for its economic negative impacts stressing that unpatriotic persons can use the opportunity to hijack the protest to perpetrate violence and indulge in all sorts of criminalities like that of the 2020 Endsars protest.

He therefore called on Patriots to join forces with Security Agencies to report any criminal element who attempt to carry out any act capable of causing crisis to the appropriate authorities.
