FRSC To Prioritize Capacity Building For Officers

The Corps Marshal Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Shehu Mohammed says the Corps is focusing on building the capacity of Officers for effective traffic management.

Addressing his first retreat with management staff and commanding officers in Abuja, Mr Mohammed said the Corps would no longer fold its hands and watch Nigerians dying on the road hence the need to train officers on new techniques to attend to emergencies.

The FRSC Corps Marshal stressed that various programs would be embarked upon to enhance operational activities to reduce Road accidents and fatalities.

According to him, for the FRSC to move forward, the Corps will place highest premium on capacity of Officers to create safer and secured environment for the motoring public.

In his address, professor Sunday Ochoche of the Nigeria Institute for policy and strategic studies Jos, Plateau State reminded the senior officers on the need to provide leadership that would change the perception of the general public on the activities of the FRSC.

Professor Sunday Ochoche also stressed the need for them to lead by example and avoid favoritism and nepotism whenever there is need to take critical decisions that would reposition the Corps for efficient service delivery.

According to him, the performance of FRSC officials and other security operatives speaks volumes about the perception of the public on the government in power.

He implored the officers to always take positive decisions that can stand the test of time.
