A pressure group under the auspices of “New Nigeria Now Group” has condemned the allegation by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, that Supporters of the 2023 Election Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi are planning to lead a violent protest against the Administration of President Bola Tinubu.

A Statement by National Coordinator of the Group, Dr. Moses Paul calls on President Bola Tinubu to caution Mr. Onanuga against the use of threat and inflammatory language on respected and peaceful Nigerians who mean well for the growth and development of the nation.

According to the Statement, Mr. Peter Obi’s exceptional leadership qualities and commitment to peaceful coexistence are exemplary even as he remains committed to promoting good governance.

The Statement points out that, it is pertinent for Political Stakeholders to rise above petty politics and focus on the greater good, such as ensuring Education, Healthcare and taking Nigerians out of Poverty rather than ethnic and bigoted rhetoric, and fanning the flames of ethnic sentiments to divide and distract Nigerians.

The Presidential Aide, Bayo Onanuga, had over the weekend, alleged that Mr. Peter Obi’s followers were planning violent protest against the Administration of President Bola Tinubu calling on Security Agencies to take necessary action against them.
