Quality Education Crucial For Devt Of Nig – Speaker

Ensuring quality education for all is crucial for the development of the nation.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Tajudeen Abbas stated this at a public hearing on bills aimed at amending the Federal Colleges of Education and National Teachers Institute Acts.

Abbas emphasized the importance of teachers’ training and development in achieving this goal, stressing that teachers hold the key to effective teaching and learning in society.

He noted that the proposed amendments to the Federal Colleges of Education and National Teachers Institute Acts are a step in the right direction towards achieving this goal.

“The bills aim to enhance the quality of teacher training programs, improve the capacity of teachers, and ensure that they are equipped with modern teaching methodologies and pedagogical skills”.he said.

Chairman of the Committee, Adamu Lakoja, said the hearing focused on the Bill to amend the existing National Teachers Institute’s Act, and the Bills that seek to establish new Federal Colleges of Education: the FCE (Technical) Fufore, Adamawa State, FCE (Special), Dukku. Gombe State, and FCE (Technical) Otan-Ayebaju, Osun State.

He said it was crucial in advancing the field of education and ensuring the professional development of educators.
