NIS Commits To Implementation Of E- Border Projects

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service!, NIS, Mrs Kemi Nandap has expressed her unwavering commitment towards the full implementation of the E-border projects to facilitate real time surveillance and monitoring of the nation’s expansive borders.

She stated this at the passing out parade and Presidential commissioning of seven hundred and fourteen cadets of the 49th Superintendent Basic Course at the Immigration Training School, Kano.

Mrs Nandap noted that the E-gates projects and the Advanced Passengers Information, API as well as the Passenger Name Record, PNR, would ensure effective and seamless passenger clearance system at the airports.

The CG gave an assurance that roll out of the E-enhanced passport would be sustained in all local formations and foreign missions of the service units until hundred percent transition is achieved.

She directed the heads of formations to vigorously support and make their respective anti-smuggling of migrants desks active .

The CG who congratulated the graduands for successfully undergoing the pivotal training to enhance their capacity building in border surveillance reiterated her determination to improve the welfare of officers and men of the service.

Mrs Nandap appreciated the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubumi Tunji-Ojo for his visionary leadership and support to the service.

The Comptroller General who also thanked the Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf however lauded the President Bola Tinubu led administration for the unalloyed commitment and dynamic leadership and support to the Nigeria Immigration Service.

In a remark, the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubumi Tunji-Ojo applauded the doggedness of the officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service in border protection .

He therefore charged the graduands to be professional and disciplined while carrying out their duties.
