NCoS Nabs Lady Attempting To Smuggle Drugs At Kuje Prison

The Nigerian Correctional Service, FCT Command, has apprehended a lady identified as Precious Yusuf who attempted to smuggle substances suspected to be psychoactive drugs into the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kuje, FCT.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer FCT Command of the Nigeria Correctional Service, Adamu Duza states that the lady came in the guise of a visitor to one of the inmates.

According to the statement, during routine search by personnel on duty, items suspected to be cannabis sativa and other psychoactive substances were concealed in food packs which were to be handed over to the inmate.

The statement says the Controller of Corrections, FCT Command, Ibrahim Usman, has ordered that the suspect be handed over to the appropriate security agency for further investigation and prosecution.

It states that the Controller warns visitors with such intentions to have a rethink as their machinations will surely be uncovered by his eagle-eyed personnel.

The statement also calls on the general public and well-meaning Nigerians to support the Nigerian Correctional Service in efforts towards reforming and rehabilitating offenders to foster public safety.
