FG Again Allocates Land For Housing Estate For Civil Servants

Background

The Federal Government has through its Inter-Ministerial Committee allocated an additional eight hectares of land for a housing estate for Civil Servants in Jiwa Area of Abuja.

Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan who made this known in Abuja at the inauguration of a housing estate for Civil Servants in Gwagwalada urged them to take advantage of the Federal Government’s Integrated Housing Scheme to enable them own their own houses before retirement.

Dr. Yemi-Esan explained that the new estate in Jiwa would be furnished with necessary amenities to further address the housing challenge of Civil Servants.

Dr Yemi-Esan said that the housing estate sited in Gwagwalada was part of the efforts of President Tinubu’s administrations Renewed Hope Agenda to sustain the provision of affordable houses for civil servants to address the housing deficit for its workforce.

“Through the FISH program we would deliver another estate of a larger scale in Jiwa, I therefore urge prospective off takers to keep visiting the official FISH website for useful updates on this forthcoming project”.

In their separate goodwill messages the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Mallam Ahmed Dangiwa and Representative of thr Minister of Works, David Umahi pledged necessary support to ensure amenities and other logistics were available to Fastrack construction at the site.

In a remark, the Executive Secretary, Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board, Mallam Ibrahim Mairiga who stressed that the board would not relent in its effort to ensure it delivered on its mandate said it had put in place a pay-and-pack-in-policy to further ease the plight of civil servants.

Two of the beneficiaries Mrs Blessing Agrire and Mr. Lawal Babatunde, said the houses would motivate Civil Servants to do their best.

One hundred and Sixteen housing units of two bedroom flats were handed over to the beneficiaries at the estate.
