Ajaka Reaffirms Commitment To Regain His Mandate

The Gubernatorial Candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in the 2023 Kogi State Governorship election, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka has dismissed reports that he has withdrawn his case seeking to reclaim his mandate from Governor Usman Ododo.

Alhaji Ajaka, in a statement, described these reports as “false information” and a “calculated attempt to mislead the public”.

He clarifies that he has never had any discussions with the government of Usman Ododo or Yahaya Bello to abandon his legal battle, and reaffirms his commitment to regaining the mandate given to him by the people of Kogi state.

He emphasizes that this fight is not just for him, but for the people of Kogi state who have been impoverished, terrorized, and dehumanized, as well as the families of those who have been killed, injured, or forcibly disappeared.

Alhaji Ajaka also announced that his legal team has filed 32 grounds of appeal at the Court of Appeal in Abuja, and expresses confidence in its success.

He appreciates the support and patience of his supporters and partners in this endeavour to rescue Kogi state.
