The federal government has directed Ministries, Departments, and Agencies yet to Embrace Digitalisation to do so before 2025.
The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan made this known in Abuja, at a media Parley with Bureau Chiefs and Correspondents of the Head of Service.
The Media Parley was part of activities to mark the Civil Service week and to intimate media organizations on various reforms undertaken by the Service in the last one year.
It is also aimed at getting feedback from the media on the need for improvement in the civil service.
To this end, the Office of the Head of service is working with Galaxy Backbone to ensure digitalization of all Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Yemi-Esan also said a framework with the service compact would be developed to ensure necessary preparation to meet the deadline.
On the issue of ghost workers in the civil service, Yemi Esan said that civil servants who went on study leave abroad without following due process have resigned with the various verification exercises to check the menace.
According to the Head of Service, before her assumption of office, over a hundred thousand workers were enlisted in the payroll but today, only 70 thousand are on the payroll after delisting ghost workers which she described as one of the strategies to curb corruption.
She expressed hope that with the various reforms undertaken so far, the Service will be repositioned for better performance.
