todayJune 16, 2024

Background

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, has rejoiced with the country’s Muslims, urging them to demonstrate the true spirit of the season by reaching out to the needy.

Senator Barau, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, calls on Muslims to seek Allah’s grace for the country’s peace, unity, security and economic prosperity.

Senator Barau, who is also the First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, assures Nigerians of the present administration’s commitment to turn around the country’s fortunes positively for the benefit of all.

He urges Nigerians, irrespective of all differences, to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he works hard to turn around the country’s fortunes positively.

“I wish Muslims and indeed all Nigerians a most memorable Eid-el-Kabir. As we all know, this season reminds us to place our faith in the compassion and wisdom of Allah and to be obedient to his instructions, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim. True Muslims must adhere to peace, tolerance, justice, and charity.

“Also, in the spirit of this season, irrespective of our faith, rededicate ourselves to the dreams and aspirations of building a strong, united, and economically sound country,” he said.

He reiterated the National Assembly’s commitment to continue formulating the necessary legislation to address the country’s challenges in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“At the parliament, we will continue to develop legislation to address the challenges facing our country. We are working with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to bring about several laws for the good governance of this country. We need the support of everyone in this regard. Let’s do it together,” he said.
