Address Economic Challenges In Nigeria – Archbishop Akinwale To Tinubu

todayJune 16, 2024

Background

Archbishop Michael Akinwale of the Methodist Cathedral of Unity, Abuja has called on President Bola Tinubu to address current economic challenges in the country.

Addressing the congregation during the service to Mark this year’s Fathers’ Day, Most Reverend Akinwale said many Fathers’ have lost their sources of income and could no longer provide for their homes.

He also expressed regret that some men abandoned their homes due to the effects of the economic policy of the administration.

The Methodist Archbishop, therefore, urged the president as the father of the nation to ensure that citizens reap dividends of democracy.

He, however, called on fathers to take full responsibility and provide adequately for their homes.

According to Archbishop, no man who takes full responsibility to bless and protect their homes lack good things.

He also emphasized the need for fathers to always ensure effective communication with their wives and children for peaceful homes.

The President, Cathedral Men’s Fellowship, Mr
Emmanuel Okereke who attributed the current high moral decadence in the country to negligence on the part of some fathers, appealed to men not to leave the upbringing of children in the hands of mothers alone.

Mr Emmanuel Okereke therefore urged fathers to always participate in church activities for better understanding of the word of God. and spiritual development of their homes

“Fathers should take back priestly roles and lead homes with the fear of God.”

Also speaking, the Diocesan Leader of the Men’s Fellowship, Air Vice Marshal Kayode Beckley, urged Christians not to relent in praying for leaders at all levels and Divine intervention to the current challenges in the country.

Air Vice Marshal Beckley assured that the church would continue to support the government’s programs aimed at bringing development to the country.
