The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, says more efforts are being put in place to ensure Nigeria’s Civil Service remains one of the best globally through its reform processes.
She stated this at a Jumaat prayer to mark the commencement of this year’s civil service week at the National Mosque in Abuja.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Police Affairs, Dr. Sani Gwarzo, the Head of Service stressed that the Jumaat prayers were necessary to commence the week-long event and pray for God’s guidance for the nation’s leadership in line with the renewed hope agenda to work in accordance with the will of Allah.
According to him, “Nigeria is blessed, the civil service is reforming, whatever Mr.President is planning to achieve with the renewed hope agenda we are ready to support him in that direction. And I want to say that not only that, in the last few years, many senior civil Servants have traveled round the world to see what civil service is all about in many countries, recently a delegation came back from Singapore and a good number of people went to understudy the system, we have seen many systems and believe me, we are doing very well in terms of our reform process”.
Earlier, the Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Professor Ibrahim Maqari, called on the Muslim ummah to always support the leaders to ensure the desired change in governance and the civil service.
In his words, “Civil Service is an integral part of which Nigeria is what it is today, our role as Muslim ummah in Nigeria is to do whatever we can to support the Nigerian civil servants in delivering their responsibilities and to remain prayerful that Allah Subawatahalla will continue to guide our leaders to help them in all the transformational agenda they have in transforming the civil service for Nigeria and the world at large.’
The theme of this year’s civil service week is “Educate an African Fit for the 21st Century: Building Resilient Education Systems for Increased Access to Inclusive, Lifelong, Quality, and Relevant Learning in Africa.”
