The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC says adequate measures have been put in place for effective traffic management during the Sallah special patrol in the federal capital territory.

FCT Sector commander, Mr Muta’a Chorrie who stated this while addressing stakeholders on the FRSC 10 days Sallah operation across the six area Councils said, Two thousand five hundred and seventeen personnel have been mobilized for effective traffic management in the federal capital territory.

He stressed that all the entry and exit points as well as identified high traffic volume areas have been taken into consideration during the special operations.

Mr Muta’a Chorrie therefore called on motorists particularly commercial drivers to abide by traffic rules avoid dangerous overtaking and give maximum cooperation to the traffic management agency to save lives and property on FCT roads.

According to him, the present administration has invested in road infrastructure to enhance socio-economic development in the territory hence the need for motorists to respect the rights of all road users.

He urged motorists to call FRSC toll-free number 122 during emergencies as operations would be carried out 24/7 .

“The command also deployed 54 patrol cars, 15 Ambulances, four Standby tow trucks, and 10 patrol bikes, which brings the total to 83 vehicles.

Mr Muta’a Chorrie explained that the corps would be collaborating with other sister agencies like the Nigeria Army, Nigeria Navy, Nigeria Air Force, Nigeria Police Force (NPF), and the Department of State Services (DSS).

Others include Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and FCT Directorate of Road Traffic Service (DRTS).
