The Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, has inaugurated the 3.2km access road to Kwali bridge, with a promise that the best of infrastructure is yet to come for the residents.
Inaugurating the project in Kwali Area Council, Wike named the road after the popular Potter, Ladi Kwali, for her creative work that brought fame to FCT and the country at large.
He noted that plans have been concluded to complete two additional roads in Kwali Area Council before the end of this year.
Wike told the people of kwali that President Tinubu has directed that solar powered street lights be provided to illuminate the newly inaugurated road in his unwavering commitment and vision to renew the hope of Nigerians and tackle insecurity.
The newly inaugurated road linking the bridge, which was said to have suffered neglect over the last 14 years, was rehabilitated by Mr Project within a few months in office.
According to Wike, President Bola Tinubu is determined to renew the hope of all Nigerians irrespective of their political parties, tribes or religious affiliations.
“Mr. President has said, “Do not lose hope,” as he is here to bring your hope back. And from what he has done on this road today, it shows indeed hope is coming back to our people,
“It is not about party, but Nigerians; it is about you, the Kwali people, and that is what is important to Mr President. It doesn’t matter where you belong, his ambition, his vision, is to make Nigerians believe that their hope must come back.
“Mr. President has directed that I should make sure that solar light is provided on this road. So, that is why we are saying that when you have the right leadership, you will get good results. It doesn’t matter where you come from. What is important is whether the person is committed? I can tell you that Mr. President is committed to changing the lives of all of us.
“I can assure you, you can see that a good dance starts with the right step, and you can see that Mr President has started with a good step, and you are going to see a good dance”, Wike assured.
On his part, the Satellite Town Development Department, STDD coordinator, Abdulkadir Zulkiflu.who gave the overview of the project explained that the construction of the bridge and the completion of the 3.2km signifies the commitment of Wike in developing the satellite towns.
“This significant project is a pivotal moment of our continuous efforts to enhance infrastructure development, ease transportation of goods and services, and open up the Area Council within the capital territory.
“Today the Renewed Hope Agenda is singing, while the people are dancing. With these projects(Mr Minister), the FCT is blessed to have you Sir, ” Zulkiflu said.
Earlier, the Kwali Area Council Chairman, Danladi Chiya expressed appreciation to the FCT Minister for the completion of the long abandoned road, noting that the road connects the Kwali main town to the Abuja – Lokoja highway.
“This project has renewed our hope in Mr. President, because before now, we had lost hope, but now, he has brought hope to my people, ” Chiya said.
The Etsu Kwali, Luka Ayedoo Nizassan, commended Wike for demonstrating purposeful leadership in trying times for people of the FCT.
“Your Excellency, You have proven to us that we must not have our own, the natives of FCT before we can get things done for ourselves…We are delighted to have you in FCT because you have demonstrated the fact that leadership that is well done, has much benefits.Barrister Wike you have provided purposeful leadership for the residents in times of trial,” Etsu said.
