the Gomo of Kuje, Alhaji Haruna Jibrin,

At the event in Abuja, the Mandate Secretary, FCTA Health Services and Environment Secretariat, Dr Adedolapo Fasawe said the Medical Outreach was borne out of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed Hope Agenda for health.

Dr Fasawe noted that the free Medical Outreach was designed for the poorest of the poor in rural communities in the FCT.

”How did this come about, the President, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through the FCT minister, Barrister, Nyesom Wike gave us a mandate, that healthcare must be accessible, affordable, available, and within reach to every citizen of the country.”

According to Dr Fasawe,” The difference  between this outreach and all other outreach is that we say health is not only the absence of disease, health is the total wellbeing of a person of the society.”

She pointed out that the FCT administration is taking President Tinubu’s mandate very seriously, especially in the area of health for the vulnerable.

”People say Wike is working, wike is not only working on projects, he is also working on the systems.

”The number we have right now is very alarming, what is causing this? we have the hospitals, we have the Nurses, we have the doctors, we have the skilled birth attendance, why do people come to us, at the latest stage of complications and they die,” Dr Fasawe said.

”Hence the essence of this programme, this programme not only offers free healthcare, but it also offers the opportunity to register under FCT free Health Insurance Scheme.”

”FCT free health insurance scheme is a scheme that Barrister Nyesom Wike has designed for all pregnant women, as long as you are registered in our Ante-natal clinics, as long as you are registered in our Primary Healthcare Centers, as long as you come into our general healthcare Centers.”

”For pregnant women, not only pregnant women, for the delivery and for that baby boy, for his first year on earth, you have access to free healthcare. and we believe with this we will be able to reduce the incidents of maternal mortality and infants mortality in the FCT, ” she said.

Dr. Adedolapo Fasawe said the programme focuses on the grassroots due to the realization that Nigerians have lost hope in the health system.
