The Founder, Sacred Church of Christ Aladura Cherubim and Seraphim, Old Kutunku, Gwagwalada Abuja, Prophet Michael Olalekan Sanni has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to put in place measures that will address poverty and economic challenges in the country.

Prophet Sanni made the appeal while speaking with newsmen on the occasion of this year’s Democracy Day Celebration in Abuja.

He described the twenty five years of Nigeria’s Democratic journey as challenging as Nigerians have not fully benefitted from the dividends of democracy despite the enormous natural and human resources the country is endowed with.

According to him, the current hardship, unemployment, poverty, insecurity and economic challenges among others due to Government’s policies are also frustrating the gains of Democratic Governance in Nigeria.

The Founder therefore stressed the need for President Bola Tinubu to be committed to the yearnings of Nigerians by actualizing his democratic struggles for the citizens through provision of free education, regular electricity and water supply, affordable housing, quality healthcare delivery, Infrastructural and economic development among others.

“Nigerians are actually not asking for too much from Government because if there’s regular electricity supply, good roads, water supply, quality education, accomodation, health care delivery, job opportunities and so on, nobody will complain but a situation where all these basic amenities are lacking after 25 years of democracy, Nigerians will definitely complain “, he stated.

The Founder who described Democracy as the best form of Governance however advised Nigerians to always put their trust in God and still keep the hope alive that the present administrstion will get things right through its renewed hope agenda.

He also stressed the need for all politicians to be committed to the actualization of the dreams of the nation’s founding fathers.

While urging all religious groups not to relent in praying for Nigeria to overcome its socioeconomic challenges, Prophet Sanni expressed the hope that with the collective support of everyone, Nigeria will soon take its rightful place among comity of nations.

“Lets keep hope alive and continue to pray to God for a better and more prosperous Nigeria because we have all what it takes to be a great country in the world and by the special grace of God Nigerians will not suffer in vain but will all be alive to eat the good fruits of the land alongside our children, families and loved ones”, he added.
