Maikalangu Secures Operational Licence For AMAC’s FM 95.3

todayJune 4, 2024

Background

The Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Mr Christopher Maikalangu, says the council has secured an operating licence for its radio station from the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Abuja.

The Council Boss made this known when the Managing Director (MD) of AMAC’s Broadcasting Service, in company of his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Public Affairs, Kingsley Madaki, officially presented the operational license to him.

The licence is unprecedented and historic as it is the first time such will be happening in AMAC.

Maikalangu commended the MD, SSA Media and Public Affairs, and other facilitators for making it a reality.

He explained that the idea of transforming the station from a community radio into a commercial radio station with a wide coverage of the entire FCT and neighbouring states, was to boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the council.

The AMAC Boss said the station will also disseminate programs with direct impact on both indigenous people of the FCT and Nigerians”.

“As a responsible and highly responsive government, we have a community radio station that was passed down from previous administrations which was purely a community radio.”

“That frequency was not too strong and we decided to move beyond that by acquiring a commercial radio station licence. It’s now a full blown radio station with the capacity to generate revenue through commercial advertising and paid programs.

“I am someone who puts AMAC people first and committed to meeting people’s expectations and exceeding such as this”.

“Undoubtedly, AMAC is indeed blessed with our administration since we came onboard. AMAC residents should be rest assured that this administration is committed to ensuring that the Council remains a moving and progressive Area Council”.

I want to call on the people of AMAC, my entire cabinet members, and aides to put AMAC first in all their dealings, ” Maikalangu said.
