Over seventy thousand candidates sat for the 2024/2025 National Examination Council, NECO, Common Entrance for admission into 115 Federal Government Colleges across the country.
Registrar of the Council, Professor Dantani Wushishi who made this known in Abuja while monitoring the examination attributed the low registration of candidates to the present economic situation in the country.
He said 72,865 candidates with 564 centres registered for the 2023 exams with a decline of 2,262 candidates.

Professor Wushishi stressed that measures were adopted to ensure that no underaged candidate participated in the examination.
In a remark, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mrs Didi Wakson Jack, commended the conduct of the examination.
Also, the Chairman Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education Lawal Usman called for measures that would support students in accessing quality education.
