Tinubu Commissions Wuye Bridge Interchange, Pledges Inclusion For All

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has inaugurated the Wuye Bridge Interchange to improve social- economic activities in the area.

Inaugurating the Interchange, President Tinubu promised that his administration would build a nation where no one is excluded.

He noted that the federal government was investing in essential services such as water and electricity, among others, to make life comfortable for all.

President Tinubu appreciated the FCT Minister for his unwavering commitment to deliver dividends of democracy through infrastructural development in giving a ray of hope to the people.

He said the completion of the interchange will bring relief to the people of the Wuye community, bring security, and better life closer to the people.

“it is just another one in the series of commitments you made to the people and the government that you will definitely make a difference, and you are making it including waves. Thanks to your team, all of you have worked together to deliver a good example to the people of Nigeria.

“Your resilience, patience, and unwavering support have been instrumental in making this moment possible. And for that and to all of you in FCT, please accept my heartfelt gratitude.

“We are investing in essential services such as water supply, electricity and road network that lay the groundwork for economic growth and prosperity, to share progress and improvement in the quality of life for all residents of Abuja Capital Territory.

” Thank you for making the dream realizable. Am proud of you, and I am happy to have listened to you. You dragged me from sleep most of the time. This is the result. Your unwavering support makes today a reality. ”

The Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike revealed that the Wuye bridge which was awarded in 2009 at 34 billion naira, but could not be completed in the last 15 years, was later reversed to 74 billion naira to attain this success.

“This is one of the projects the people of FCT would cherish. When we came in we looked at projects that would impact positively on the people. Residents of this district have lost hope of completion of this project. ”

“This project was awarded in 2009 at the cost of N94 billion, but was reversed to N74 billion, 15 years there was struggle to finish one interchange and I can imagine the hardship the people had faced, business activities would crumble.

“It is not about how many kilometres but rather the importance of the interchange, Wike said.

The FCT Minister thanked the Director General of the Debt Management Office, the National Assembly and Mr President for the massive support given to FCTA to execute projects.

The Executive Secretary FCDA, Shehu Ahmed Hadi attested to the fact that the casualties, fatalities, and chaotic traffic jam usually experienced on the Wuye to Wuse link Bridge, would be resolved with the completion of the interchange.

“This network of the roads around the interchange about two kilometers are today being delivered by the doggedness by my boss, my leader, Mr. Project, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike himself”.

“With the completion of this, it will definitely eliminate the chaotic traffic congestion that is being experienced at Julius Berger roundabout, as well as all the crashes we are encountering now.

Pedestrian walkways have been provided along with this road so that pedestrians can now easily walk between all the districts surrounding this interchange, ” Hadi said.
