The gubernatorial candidate of the the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kogi state,
Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka has rejected the tribunal’s ruling in favor of Governor Usman Ododo, vowing to take the case to the highest court.
Ajaka who described the setback as a temporary defeat, saying, “A long walk to freedom has just begun, praised his legal team for their outstanding work in proving overvoting during the election, despite the tribunal’s decision to strike out the case.
Ajaka expressed optimism that the judgment will not stand the test of time and urged his supporters to remain hopeful and determined in their pursuit of justice.
He emphasized that the fight is not just about winning an election but about standing up for what is right and just.
“We will rise from the ashes of this defeat, stronger and more determined than ever before,”
“Our stolen mandate, our voice, our power, will not be silenced. We will take this fight to the very end, where justice will prevail”, he said.
Ajaka also called on his supporters to stay united and continue the fight, reminding them that history is filled with stories of triumph against all odds.
He encouraged them to remain determined and focused on their ultimate goal, saying, “Let our determination be our guiding light, and let our relentless pursuit of justice be the fuel that propels us forward.”
