Cleric Tasks Parents On Proper Upbringing Of Children

todayMay 26, 2024

Background

The Founder of Sacred Church of Christ, Aladura Cherubim and Seraphim, Old Kutunku, Gwagwalada Abuja, Prophet Micheal Olalekan – Sanni wants parents to always ensure proper upbringing of their children in line with the teachings and commandments of God.

He made the call during the Church’s special service ahead of this year’s Children Day Celebration in Old Kutunku, Gwagwalada Abuja.

He said the call became necessary to ensure a better and crime free society.

He attributed some of the challenges confronting the country to poor parenting.

The Founder who expressed concern over the nonchalant attitude of some parents towards the upbringing of their children noted that the issues of banditry, kidnapping, yahoo -yahoo and other vices were as a result of bad influence arising from unchecked parenting.

While describing children as the glory and future leaders of any country, the Founder stressed the need for parents to always dedicate quality time to the training of their children towards realizing their dreams in life.

Some parents these days are just after money and material acquisition thereby neglecting their primary responsibility of training their children and some of them have forgotten that the children we refused to train will be the ones that will sell the property we acquired”, he emphasized.

He also advised the government at all levels to consider free education for less privileged children to ensure a productive and patriotic generation for the country.

For any child to be somebody in life, he or she must either be formally educated or be properly skilled through vocational training hence the need for all children to be properly guided concerning tomorrow for them to be self reliant and empowered towards contributing to nation building” he added.
