Speaking after his side’s victory, Coach of Edo Queens, Moses Aduku said both sides played a good game of football as he acknowledge that opening fixtures are tricky.

“Opening games are difficult to play. You see when the game started, everybody was trying to hold their own. We scored they equalize, we had to come up and get other four goals. So it was a wonderful game.

Both sides played, but we got our chances and we took it.”

Aduku added that this season, unlike the previous one his ladies are going to take all their chances as they are ready for their next opponent.

“One of the things I changed was we had an opportunity last season, we could not take it. But this is where we worked on it. And you can see we scored five goals.

The next game is against Rivers Angles we will watch them play and get ready for them.”

Meanwhile, the second game of matchday One which saw Nasarawa Amazon and Heartland Queens lock horns, ended in a barring draw after an intriguing 90 minutes of play.

Nasarawa Amazon had a major chance to gain the lead from the spot 21 minutes into the game after a Heartland defender handled the ball inside the box. But Goalkeeper Chukwu Uchenna made double saves to deny Chinyere Kalu from the spot.
