In a relentless pursuit of peace and security, the Military High Command has declared notorious terrorist leader, Halilu Buzu, a citizen of Niger Republic, wanted.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, made this known while addressing newsmen on activities of troops in Abuja.
According to him,the troops are actively engaged in multiple theaters of operation across the country, targeting terrorist elements and their collaborators.
General Buba further announced significant strides in the ongoing operations, particularly in the hunt for
Halilu Buzu, a high-value target and cattle rustler notorious for his illegal activities, including arms trafficking and gold mining, in Zamfara state and its environs.
The Director Defence Media Operations who explained that Buzu after carrying out nefarious activities often sought refuge across the border in the Republic of Niger, called for collaboration with Nigerien authorities to ensure accountability for his atrocities.
General Buba noted that in the past week Nigerian troops neutralized 227 terrorists, arrested 529 individuals, and rescued 253 kidnapped hostages.
Also significant quantities of weapons, ammunition, and stolen crude oil products were seized, by troops’ in their various theatres of operation.
General Buba tasked Nigerians to report cases of extortion, intimidation and indiscipline by troops to enable the armed forces deal with the situation appropriately.
A minute silence was observed in honour of our fallen heroes and Nigerians who lost their lives due to insecurity in the country.
