FG To Promote Innovation In Science, Technology

As part of measures to enhance technological breakthrough in the country, the Federal Government has promised to step up its promotion of innovation in science and technology.

The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima made the promise in Abuja while declaring open the 2024 National Productivity Summit.

The Vice President, who was represented by his special adviser on National Economy Council, Mrs Kukaiya El Rufa’i expressed the Federal Government’s readiness to harness global content in science and technology.

On his part, the Minister for Labour and Employment, Mrs Nkeiruka Onyejeocha highlighted some key ways of increasing economy productivity in the country.

In their separate remarks, the Minister of Imterior, Mr, Olubumi Tunde Ojo and Chairman Senate committee on Labour and Employment called for more enlightenment campaign on national productivity.

Earlier, the Director General National Productivity Center, Dr Nasir Mustapha reiterated the commitment of the Centre towards improving productivity.

The theme of the summit is “promoting productivity and national development by leveraging on science and technology and Innovation.
