2nd eTranzact Golf Classic To Promote Sports In Nigeria

Niyi Toluwalope, Managing Director of eTranzact International, reaffirms the company’s commitment to promoting golf in Nigeria and across Africa through their sponsorship of the second eTranzact Golf Classic.

Toluwalope made this statement on Friday May 10th, 2024 during a press conference at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja, Nigeria which is the venue for the second edition of the tournament which was first held in Lagos.

The second eTranzact Golf Classic tees off on May 15th, 2024, with over 120 amateur and professional golfers vying for honours.

With the total prize money increased to N20 million, Toluealope added that the Tour will develop golf in Nigeria

“When we partnered with the PGD Tours last year, we promised that the Classic will provide a platform to promote and elevate professional and amateur golfing in Africa, while fostering business to business collaborations, and facilitating partnerships between business and government.

This year, we are re-affirming our commitment to this noble sporting event, and all that it has to offer. We have taken our support a notch higher by introducing some exciting changes around the event. The increased prize money is also a further demonstration of our commitment to make the Classic more competitive and attract the absolute best of golfers to perform at this stage…

We are also excited to be bringing the competition to the beautiful, serene, and hilly environment of the prestigious golf course, the IBB course,”

According to him, eTranzact involvement in sports is a demonstration of the organisation’s resolve to keep supporting and providing innovative solutions and platforms to help businesses to succeed in the marketplace.

Also, Femi Olagbenro, the Tour Commissioner PGD of the classic acknowledge that the Tour is a pay and play tour which aims to showcase and develop talents as he believes that a mix of foreign and local players will help develop Nigerian talents as he believes you need to compete with the best if you must be the best.

“Our focus on PGD tours is to bridge the gap of insufficient tournaments.

All we need to establish a proper golfing tour in this region is to have at least good tour tournament.”

Meanwhile, Deputy General Manager, Business Development of eTranzact, Adedayo Adejokun believes that the tournament is a way of inclusion between Fintech and golf.

“Your dream of being a golfer shouldn’t end there. Golf is inclusive and that’s why we are driving this.

This golf initiative that we are promoting is our commitment to inclusion, it’s a perfect marriage between golf and Fintech.”

The four-day golf tournament from May 15 to 18 will feature golfers from Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Togo, Senegal, and Nigeria.
