The National Rescue Movement, NRM, has thrown its weight behind the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, following the current crisis in the state.
National Chairman of the party, Ambassador Isaac Chigozie Udeh, stated this at a news conference in Abuja.
Ambassdor Udeh said Fubara is not a PDP governor only as it takes the votes of all for him to emerge winner at the polls.
The Chairman of the National Rescue Movement explained that the governor has shown that he is ready to work from what is happening in the state and so should not be distracted by anyone.
“Fubara has proven to Nigerians that he is ready to work by the great work he is doing. It is practically open and he deserves all the encouragement.
He explained that elected political officers are not only voted in by their party members but through the votes of every one in the state who shared in the manifesto he presented to the public.
“I want us to understand that when a candidate emerges from a political party for governorship, presidential or any other position, it is not only his party that delivers him at the polls. It is based on the manifesto he presents to the public and his place in the public that will make him to win the votes of everybody not only the votes of his political party in the state or country, that is what makes Fubara the governor of Rivers State not PDP” he emphasized.
The Chairman of the NRM, stressed that he has instructed members of his party in Rivers state to give the governor all the necessary support to enable him succeed in Office.
“I have directed that our entire party, NRM in Rivers State should give Fubara the maximum support and rally round him and prove that he has the support of over eighty-five percent of the people.
“I want to use this opportunity to assure the governor that my party is solidly behind him across the twenty three Local Government Areas in the state” Ambassador Udeh stated.
