Mark My Birthday With Humanitarian Gestures – Deputy Speaker

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Benjamin Okezie Kalu has issued a humble appeal for subdued commemorations as he prepares to mark his birthday on Sunday, May 5, 2024.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary in Abuja, Levinus Nwabughiogu, the Deputy Speaker acknowledges the prevailing mood of the country and implores his friends, colleagues, and well-wishers to adopt a restrained approach to celebrating his special day.

He urges them to refrain from advertorials, extravagant greetings, and flamboyant displays, suggesting instead activities focused on empathy, introspection, and humanitarian causes, such as visits to orphanages.

Expressing gratitude for the understanding and compliance of his friends and political allies, Kalu acknowledges any inconvenience his request may cause.

He emphasizes the importance of directing efforts, thoughts, and actions towards supporting the Federal Government and parliament in addressing the nation’s challenges.

The Deputy Speaker concluded his appeal by expressing deep gratitude to God for another year of perfect health and extending sincere appreciation to everyone for their prayers.
