SWAN ELECTIONS: SWANECO fix Rerun Elections for May 10

The FCT Sports Writers Association of Nigeria Electoral Committee, SWANECO has announced Friday 10th, May 2024 for the rerun of the 2024 SWAN FCT chapter elections for the position of chairman and treasurer.

Chairman of the SWANECO, Mr. Patrick Ngwaogu disclosed this in a statement released on Sunday.

The FCT SWAN Electoral Committee (SWANECO) decided to hold the concluding part of the 2024 FCT SWAN elections on Friday, May 10th, 2024.

He however enjoined members to come out en masse to elect new leaders that will pilot the affairs of the association.

Recall that Kelechi Onwudiwe of Classic fm and Tolulope Oguntimehin of ITV were tied on 64 votes for the chairmanship position, same as the position of the treasurer where Jane-Frances Nwaeze of TVC and Taofweek Lawal both pulled 68 votes each.

However, Radio Nigeria’s Friday Joshua emerged as the Assistant Secretary after pulling a total of 104 votes to defeat Nonso Arinzechukwu of Voice of the People fm who got 32 votes.

Also, Joan Iwuchukwu pulled a total of 88 votes to beat Busayo Olowookere who got 48 votes for the position of welfare officer.

The new executive of SWAN FCT chapter will pilot the affairs of the association for the next three (3) years after the elections are concluded on May 10.
