The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Alhaji Umar Ganduje, has appealed to the 16 Ondo governorship aspirants at the just concluded Governship primary election to be patient and work for success of the party in November.
Alhaji Ganduje stated this in Abuja during a reconciliation meeting with the 16 contestants and the Ondo state governor, Chief Lucky Aiyedatiwa who emerged the candidate for the election.
The APC National Chairman, who explained that it is expected that after an election there must be aggrieved persons who are not satisfied with the process, which is what democracy is all about.
“In every election there must be a winner and a looser but the most important thing is the understanding of both the contestants and supporters to join hands for the progress and success of the party and the country” he added.
Alhaji Ganduje called on the contestants to eschew their differences and make sure the party retains the governorship seat in Ondo state.
Briefing newsmen after the meeting, the Ondo State chairman of the party, Mr Ade Adetimehin explained that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa was asked to constitute a government of inclusiveness to carry every party member in the state along for peace and unity of the party.
