Wike Inaugurates New STDD Coordinator, Cautions Against Compromise

The new Coordinator for the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, Satellite Towns Development Department, STDD, Abdulkadir Zulkiflu has been inaugurated.

On the occasion in Abuja, the FCT Minister gave him a stern warning to avoid compromise and negotiation of awarded contracts with Contractors for personal gains.

He tasked him to bring the needed expertise and development to Satellite Towns by coordinating effectively, insisting that he would not hesitate to take necessary action should any form of corrupt practice is dedected.

Wike also advised the new Coordinator to take the appointment as an opportunity to contribute to national development, and work hard to ensure that all satellite towns feel the impact of the government.

“Mr. President found you worthy to contribute to national development, particularly as regards the FCTA.This is for you to contribute to driving the Renewed Hope Agenda in Satellite Towns.

“it is your business to coordinate, liaise, and brief me as the Minister of the FCT. You are not sent there to sit in your office and begin to negotiate with contractors. If I find out, I will not hesitate to take necessary action”.

“Mine is, do your work. If you do your work, everybody will see that you are doing your work.I don’t like praise singers. Your action will speak for you.

“Now that FCTA is seriously involved in the development of satellite towns, make sure that things are done very well,” Wike advised.

On the issue of Satellite Towns sanitation, Wike charged the Coordinator to do due diligence and ensure the contractors actually perform their duties before presenting memos for payment, pointing out that shaddy deals will no longer be tolerated in the aspect of environmental sanitation.

According to him, FCTA pays the bills of satellite towns cleaners every month, without verifying whether they have carried out the job or not.

“Now you are the coordinator, make sure that things are done very well before you send me any paper.What we have done now is to make sure that all the area councils’ chairman are involved in vetting before payment is carried out” Wike said.

On his part, the New Coordinator of STDD, Mr Abdulkadir Zulkiflu promised to discharge his duty effectively
