NACHPN Felicitates With Muslims, Lauds Tinubu’s Support To PHC

todayApril 10, 2024

Background

The President, National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria, NACHPN, Comrade Kabir Yahaya Ahmed has felicitated with Muslims nationwide on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

In his Sallah message in Abuja, Comrade Ahmed also rejoiced with them for the successful completion of the one month fast.

While urging them to sustain the lessons learnt during the holy month of Ramadan, the President of NACHPN admonished them to use the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration in praying for Nigeria to overcome its economic and security challenges.

He used the opportunity to also commend President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Health, Professor Ali Pate for their interest in Primary Healthcare and support to Community Health Practitioners towards ensuring quality service delivery in all Primary Healthcare Centres in the country.

“I also want to commend the Federal Ministry of Health for embarking on training of over one hundred and twenty thousand health workers in the country because this gesture will go a long way in ensuring that standards are set and followed particularly in the area of universal health coverage” he stated.

“I equally appeal to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun to assist in ensuring that most of the schools operating within the country are Institutions that have the accreditation to run Community Health Practitioners programmes because most of the Schools and Colleges of Health Technology today are running without accreditation from the regulatory bodies therefore there’s absolutely need for the Security Apparatus of the country to ensure that those institutions are sanctioned”.

According to him, NACHPN will continue to ensure professionalism among Community Health Practitioners towards enhancing the growth of the nation’s Primary Healthcare system in line with global best practices.

He therefore advised Community Health Practitioners to complement the efforts of President Bola Tinubu towards achieving his renewed hope agenda for Nigerians in the area of health.
