Eid-el- fitr : Wike Harps On Unity, Prayer For Nigeria

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr Nyesom Wike has felicitated with Muslims on the occasion of Eid el-Fitr, with a call on residents to reflect on the values of compassion, generosity, and unity that defines the sacred month of Ramadan.

Wike also tasked Nigerians not to relent in praying to God Almighty for Nigeria and its leaders to overcome all challenges for the overall good of all.

This is contained in a message signed by the FCT Minister, Mr Nyesom Wike on the occasion of Eid el- fitr.

Beyond the Ramadan period, the Minister stressed the need for Nigerians to continue to be self- disciplined, and support one another in acts of charity and kindness.

Wike congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of this religious obligation and prayed that the supplications made to Almighty Allah will be answered.

“This auspicious festival not only marks the end of a month-long period of fasting, prayer, and reflection, it also serves as a profound reminder of the values of compassion, generosity, and unity that lie at the heart of Islam.

“During Ramadan, we witnessed the spirit of self-discipline, compassion, and unity that defines this sacred month. It is a time when we come together in solidarity, sharing meals, breaking fasts, and supporting one another in acts of charity and kindness.

“I hereby enjoin us all to continue to offer supplications to the Almighty for our dear country Nigeria and her leaders for divine wisdom and guidance, especially as they work ceaselessly to overcome our current challenges”.

“I urge us, however, not to limit these acts of charity, love, and tolerance to only the holy month but should inculcate this culture into our everyday lives.” Wike admonished.

Irrespective of ethniic or religious background, Wike also encouraged all residents to work together in harmony and tolerance.

“The FCT embodies diversity, tolerance, and harmony, serving as a symbol of unity for all Nigerians. Our strength lies in our ability to embrace our differences and work together towards common goals, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or background.”

Mr Nyesom Wike pledged his rcommitment to prioritize the well-being and prosperity of all Nigerians, through the instrumentality of investing in people oriented projects like infrastructure, education, security and economic empowerment in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

” Under this noble agenda the FCTA is focusing on infrastructure development, healthcare, education, security, and economic empowerment.

“By investing in these key areas, we aim to create a more vibrant and resilient FCT, where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and succeed”.

According to Wike, tremendous progress have been made under President Tinubu, in the areas of security, provision of road infrastructure, the rail sector, and reforms in the administration of the FCTA.
