Senator Echocho Condemns Killings In Agojeju Odo, Omala LG

The Senator Representing Kogi East, Senator Jibrin Echocho, has condemned the heinous attack in Agojeju Odo, Omala Local Government Area of Kogi state, which left at least 19 persons dead, and burning of over 50 houses.

The lawmaker in a statement by his Media aid, Mikail Ibrahim, describes the development as worrisome and intolerable.

It says he directed relevant authorities to visit the area and get to the root of the killings, insisting that the situation must be brought under control immediately to prevent further degeneration.

Senator Echocho while commiserating with families of those killed, says all citizens must be security conscious to avoid any conduct that would jeopardise peaceful coexistence in the state.

The lawmaker therefore urges the government and the security agencies, which have the constitutional responsibility of securing lives and property, to secure and protect law-abiding citizens of Ogojeju Odo Community bring the culprits to justice.
