APR Basketball Club of Rwanda fired warning shots at Rivers Hoopers after its slim 77-76 win against Egypt’s Al Ittihad Alexandria in a warm-up match played as part of the team’s preparations for the upcoming Basketball Africa League (BAL).
According to the Times of Rwanda, the game took place at STECOL basketball court.
APR’s guard Ntore Habimana saved the victory for his team with a buzzer-beating shot at the end of a closely contested fourth quarter.

APR’s Michael Dixon scored high 32 points and added 4 rebounds and four assists, while Williams Robeyns and Ntore Habimana added 15 and 11 points respectively.
Meanwhile, Al Ittihad’s Joseph Emmanuel and Haitham Kamal scored 20 and 12 points respectively.
APR will play a second warm-up game against Al Ittihad on March 25, at STECOL basketball court.
Before departing for Dakar to compete in the Sahara Conference of the BAL in May, APR will also play some additional build-up matches following their friendlies against Al-Ittihad.
