Kapital FM 92.9 The Station that Rocks!
Academic activities were today paralysed at the University of Abuja as the joint Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU and the Non Academic Staff Union NASU embarked on strike over withheld four months salary.
Other demands by the Unions are renegotiation of the 2009 FGN SSANU agreement, reconstitution of governing council’s, release of earned allowances, and improved funding for Universities.
The Chairman of SSANU, University of Abuja Chapter, Comrade Nuruddeen Yusuf stressed the need for the Federal Government to meet the demands of the Unions.

On her part the NASU Chairperson, Hajiya Sadiya Hassan called for reappointment of new Governing Board in the University for better welfare of the staff.
The Chairperson stated that the Unions would follow legitimate means to achieve their demands.
