Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on students engagement, Sunday Asefon says the present administration is committed to safeguarding the future of Nigerian students.
He made this known at the inauguration of a committee on the campaign against social vices in secondary and tertiary institutions.
Asefon said that the present administration believes in potential of Nigerian students hence it constituted the committee to aid them in making the right decisions.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is deeply committed to safeguarding the future of Nigerian students.Today we assembled representatives from diverse backgrounds to lead this special commitment to our dear Nation”.
He appealed to members of the committee to ensure comprehensive awareness campaigns to educate students on the dangers of social vices and promote positive values.
“To the esteemed members of the committee, the weight of responsibility you carry is significant. You are entrusted with developing and implementing comprehensive awareness campaigns to educate students about the dangers of social vices and promote positive values”.
He further urged the committee members to collaborate with tertiary institutions to strengthen security measures and create an enabling environment that will foster academic excellence and personal growth of students.
“To the students of Nigeria; This committee is here for you. We believe in your potential and the Government of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is here to empower you to make positive choices”.
“Engage with the committee’s initiatives. Seek help if you struggle with addiction or face negative influences. Remember, a brighter future awaits you, and you hold the power to shape it” he stressed.
“let’s us work together to eradicate social vices from our institutions. Let us foster a culture of academic integrity, respect, and personal responsibility”.
“With unwavering dedication and collaboration, we can create a future where Nigerian students can thrive, not just academically, but as responsible citizens of Nigeria”.
“Together we can make our campuses and Nigeria free of social vices” he added.
