Nasarawa Police Arrest 2 Armed Robbery Suspects

Two armed robbery suspects have been arrested by the Nasarawa State police Command.

Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel in a statement explains that the arrest of the suspects followed persistent outcry of robbery attacks on road users along Doma – Rukubi road in Doma Local government area of the state.

The statement says in response to the weekly complaints on armed robbery in the night particularly on Thursdays by persons dressed in military uniforms, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Umar Shehu Nadada deployed discreet security mechanisms to the area resulting in the arrest of Abdullahi Basso and Saidu Isah.

It says the suspects who were dressed in military uniforms were apprehended on the spot where cases of robbery attacks usually occur between Doma and Rukubi while they were about to commence their operation.

The statement adds that the sum of three hundred thousand naira cash, and a knife were recovered from the suspects who allegedly confessed to a recent attack on one Mallam Barka who they dispossessed of the sum of five hundred thousand naira.
