The Minister in charge of First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Abuja, Reverend Deji Oyelami has advised religious groups not to relent in praying for Nigeria and its leadership towards overcoming the current challenges confronting the country.e during the Church’s special prayer session for Nigeria in Gwagwalada Abuja.
He said what the country required at this moment is prayers and not negative utterances and curses for the land and those in authority.
The Baptist Cleric stated that although, what Nigerians are passing through is as a result of failure of leadership over the years but God still have plans for the country hence the need for the citizens not to loose hope for a better tomorrow.
According to Reverend Oyelami, with the collective support and prayers of all Nigerians irrespective of tribe, religious or political differences, Nigeria would soon take its rightful place among comity of nations.
The Baptist Cleric also admonished Christians not to indulge in any act detrimental to national peace and development noting that the current challenges is temporary and would soon be a thing of the past.
While urging christian mothers to always understand with their husbands and manage their homes in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ, Reverend Deji Oyelami stressed the need for christians to be steadfast in faith and prayers to ensure divine breakthrough in their endeavours.
He equally called on all political office holders to be committed to the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians towards reducing tension in the land.
Reverend Oyelami who expressed concern over the attitude of some politicians towards national interest advised political office holders to fulfill their electioneering campaign promises to the people and give them the dividends of democracy towards reducing poverty, unemployment and crimes nationwide.
He emphasized the need for Government at all levels to give priority to youth and women empowerment to enhance national peace and economic development.
