The Kogi State Commissioner for Works, Muhammed Ahovi says the Ministry will uphold the Disabilities Law through Infrastructural Development.
Yusuf stated this in Lokoja when Executives of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) Kogi State Chapter paid him a visit.
He said the ministry would intensify efforts to make life more bearable for the group in infrastructural designs.
The Commissioner also reaffirmed his commitment to creating an enabling environment that would give equal and adequate opportunities to Persons with disabilities in the state for the fulfillment of their dreams and aspirations in the area of infrastructure.
Responding, the Chairman, Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities,JONAPWD, Kogi state, Comrade Yahaya Solomon, congratulated the commissioner on his appointment and appealed to him to put members of the group into consideration in all programmes and projects of the state, most especially in the area of job creation.
A bill to establish a Disability Office was signed into law last year as part of efforts to guarantee and protect the rights of Persons Living With Disabilities.
